Membership

Our membership year runs from 1st April until 31st March the following year, but you can join at any time during the year.

Our annual membership fee for the period 1st April 2026 to 31st March 20277 is £20.

If you are interested in joining, please e-mail the Membership Secretary. see link below. Alternatively, you can talk to the Membership Secretary at a monthly meeting. The 2026-2027 application form for those joining now can be downloaded here:

The annual subscription of £20 covers:

  • Attendance at our monthly meetings and talks in the Alexandra Centre in Swanley. For more information see the Events page.
  • Access to 30+ Interest groups (provided that places are available). See the Groups page for more information.
  • The National u3a magazine U3A Matters which is delivered to your home five times a year
  • The Swanley and District u3a Newsletter with news of Groups and Events, by email (or collection at the monthly meeting for members who do not have the internet).
  • The opportunity to join trips organised by the u3a. See the Events page
  • Insurance whilst engaging in u3a group activities.

We prefer you to pay your membership fee by bank transfer but alternatively you can pay by cheque or cash to the Membership Secretary at a monthly meeting.

Emergency Contact Details We would be grateful if you could provide us with an emergency contact name and phone number. This is not mandatory, but we believe it is important to know who to contact if there is an emergency at a u3a event. Please ensure your contact has given permission for their details to be provided to us.
